Sonia Salvetti is an Italian contemporary artist whose paintings have been exhibited internationally.
Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan, she later specialized in porcelain painting. She currently works as a teacher in art high school.
Since the beginning of her artistic career, she has devoted considerable attention to botanical illustration, especially to the search for the psychological value and meaning of each flower or plant portrayed by it.
From these studies, a collaboration with a national publishing house was born for the creation of botanical illustrations for specific botany books.
In addition to Italy, her works are exhibited in private collections in most of Europe, in America and Japan.
“I love painting nature because it hides an infinite number of meanings. I like to interpret them to make them mine.
I find that nature, despite the many difficulties to survive, makes you a spectator of its wonders and never disappoints.
At the same time, with my works, I want to document and pass on the infinite varieties of plants that, sometimes due to external factors or human stupidity, become extinct”.
"Simplicity and elegance distinguish my works.” (Sonia Salvetti)
