Artist Statement

For Mirjana Mitrović art, just like life itself, is a sort of patchwork of free spirit, creativity, forms, techniques and materials. While life’s patchwork is created with moments, people/animals we meet/befriend, actions and emotions, Mitrović mixes in her paintings media, techniques, embroidery and often adds some odd elements that speak of the past, such as old buttons or coins. While painting, she tries to weave into the work both emotional and physical thread of her thoughts.
