About Kore
Kore Heerema (1990), found his interest in photography from a young age, portraying friends and family and capturing nature scenes on holidays. When this all became more serious he started working with a lot of musicians, making portraits and interviews with young upcoming artist. In the meantime he studied at the Fotovakschool and Gerrit Rietveld Academie, and his focus shifted to other facets of photography, including urban scenes, still-life's and fine art.
With his eye for details his work shows unique and abstract photo's.
The photos of Kore Heerema explores the intersection of reality and imagination. Attracted by shapes, line work and color combinations. Recognizable objects are resolved into patterns that challenge perception. By isolating and reinterpreting fragments of the everyday, images are created that allow the mind to wander beyond the ordinary. By manipulating, playing with focus and movement, emphasizing the abstract, exploring the hidden beauty in chaos, rhythm in randomness and harmony in contrast. The photographs are intended to provoke a visceral reaction rather than convey a literal meaning. Hoping that each viewer will form their own emotions and interpretations and see them in the work. Ultimately, art is about possibility, the endless potential to look beyond the surface and search for the abstract landscapes that exist in every moment of life. Hoping to capture the invisible and offer a new perspective on the world around us.
