Anna Mussanap was born in 1991 in Northern Kazakhstan. From an early age, she loved everything related to creativity and drawing. The pencil became her means of self-expression. For many years after getting married, she dedicated herself to her family and 4 kids.
In November 2023, she accidentally came across charcoal drawings on the internet. Gathering all the necessary information and holding charcoal in her hands for the first time, she began her initial experiments.
Over time, she developed her own charcoal application technique, allowing her to create portraits filled with depth, character, and emotion.
In just one year of dedicated work, she won the Grand Prix in two international competitions, exhibited her works at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris and in two National State Museums of Kazakhstan.
The main essence of her work is portraits that have soul and individuality.
Viewers perceive her artwork in different ways. Some say they can hear the crunch of snow, others note the liveliness in the eyes, while some are convinced they are looking at a photograph.
“The greatest reward is when people experience vibrant and colourful emotions while looking at my black-and-white portraits.” (Anna Mussanap)
