Angela von Kempe’s art grows out of a decades-long career as a neurologist, psychiatrist, and acupuncture specialist, paired with a lifelong passion for visual expression. Her work unites scientific understanding with creative sensitivity to explore what lies beyond the visible—through the language of form, colour, and energy.
Born in 1960, she studied medicine in Düsseldorf and trained as a neurologist and psychiatrist. Since 1994, she has worked in private practice. Alongside her medical career, she specialised in Traditional Chinese Medicine, earning a Master of Acupuncture and a diploma from the University of Nanjing.
She taught for six years at the DAA and EAA and received advanced training in various acupuncture techniques, Chinese phytotherapy, Bazi, Feng Shui, quantum medicine, Bön-Buddhist methodologies, and micro-immunotherapy.
Inspired by the resonance phenomena observed in clinical practice, she began exploring how visual stimuli might influence emotional and neurological states. After formal studies in painting, she developed a method that merges colour and form with individual psychological profiles. Her practice includes birth date pictures—personalised works created through a therapeutic questionnaire, offering symbolic and emotional insight.
The resulting artworks create quiet spaces of reflection and connection. Whether personal or autonomous, each piece invites a subtle dialogue between the mind, the senses, and the unseen.
