About Stephan
Self-taught, Stephan Custer has drawn in periods since childhood. This taste for drawing comes from his mother, who also drew, like my grandmother. The presence of the texts comes to him from this taste for literature that his father passed on to him from a young age.
It took him a lot of time and deep introspection to be able to want to express his emotions on paper and canvas.
When he reached 40, he wanted to learn the basics that he didn't have. So, humbly, Stephan took courses at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts. Then, the time that he was missing continued to pass, until life imposed on him, like each of us, to live a time where it was only allowed to come face to face with oneself. .
It was the moment he was waiting for, unconsciously, for this dive into the depths of himself which allowed him to force the barriers that he had not seen until then.
His paintings are the reflection of his life, his hopes, his sufferings too, but above all the expression of what he did not know how to say.
If shared emotion is felt, it is because we have been touched, at some point in our lives, by the same feelings.
