About Paul
Paul MARNEF is a real passionate about photography. His profession as a photographer brings him a perfect mix between technical and artistic aspects that allow him to show his vision of the world or of an event.
More of a grassroots reporter, he started out as a press photographer. Perfect for him because photojournalism is a very varied and demanding environment. It also led him to take an interest in new tools and technologies that allow images to be sublimated. This is how Paul specialized in tiny planets photography.
Paul MARNEF likes to transform places, to give them little mystery with a surprising effect, at the crossroads of drawing, painting, computer-generated image and photography.
The artistic approach as a photographer is to reinvent the world, to make it lighter and to transport people to other planets, both so close to our daily lives and yet still so little known.
Through his creations of tiny planets photos Paul invites to travel through a somewhat unreal and dreamlike vision of the space around him.
He tries to give a little poetry to his photographs of tiny planets.
These tiny planets images immerse also in the universe of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's 'The Little Prince' planet.
Interview
ARTEOMAGAZINE N. 1 - December 2022
When did you decide to pursue a career as an artist?
Really complicated to reply to this. Frankly I don’t know. It came little by little. I started out as a press photographer. Perfect for me because photojournalism is a very varied and demanding environment. It also led me to take an interest in new tools and technologies that allow images to be sublimated. Moreover, I also noticed that some people liked my creations and that encouraged me to continue in this direction.
How would you describe yourself and your artwork?
Since I really like to transform places, I want to give them something more, little mystery with a surprising effect, at the crossroads of drawing, painting, computer-generated image and photography. And this is how my works are born and I describe them as Tiny Planets Photography.
Where do you find inspiration?
Mostly around me, around my house. I like to immerse myself inside nature, for this reason many of my photos are taken during walks.
What emotions do you hope the viewers experience when looking at your art?
I hope people will see that nature is beautiful and I’m trying a bit to reinvent the world, to make it lighter and to transport people to other planets, both so close to our daily lives and yet still so little known.
