Pamela Mitchell

Pamela Mitchell has been a professional artist now for over 30 years, although she always had a love for all art when she started painting aged 12.

Having lived in many interesting locations across Australia, Asia and Europe, her travels have been a big influence on her choice of subjects.

Her works are mainly in acrylic and oils on canvas, but she also draws in charcoal and pastel depending on her feel for the subject.

Her artworks now mostly depict the beautiful and ancient Australian landscape structure that she is proud to call home. 

Pamela will focus on a particular shape or formation and then use texture and intense colour to bring it to life. 

Often her work reflects a time and place that brings a deep emotional response from the viewer. 

Sometimes Pamela writes a poem that inspires a painting, a poem that comes from her heart that she then translates in paint onto canvas. Everything is a creation, she feels, that comes from within.

Pamela has tutored art groups and art privately for many years and has written and painted demonstration pieces for top Australian Art magazines as well as illustrating a book.

Her works are collected across Australia, UK, Asia, Europe and the USA.
