About Lihong

Lihong Zhang, a professional artist, was born in Beijing and currently lives and works in Melbourne. She studied industrial design and psychology at university and attended advanced contemporary art painting courses at the University of Melbourne.
Since childhood, Lihong has had a passion for painting. She studied at the Beijing Youth Palace during her childhood, where her works were exhibited and awarded, creating unforgettable memories for her.
Lihong was influenced by the works of Claude Monet and studied Impressionist painting in Beijing in 2015. She is currently a member of the Victorian Artists Society in Australia and has participated in numerous exhibitions and art fairs.
Lihong chose lotus flowers as a reflection of her culture and as a theme to further explore contemporary Impressionist painting techniques. She has developed a unique and distinctive personal painting language with bold colors and decisive brushstrokes, showcasing her outstanding personal style.
Lotus flowers symbolize the charm of Eastern Zen, tranquility, and harmony, bringing new interpretations to Impressionist works. Viewers can observe the artist's joy in the medium of painting through carefully crafted color palettes and emotionally charged brushstrokes that convey the painter's state of mind.
Lihong's inspiration for her paintings often comes at night, sometimes even appearing in her dreams. She promptly captures these inspirations on canvas, often creating abstract and surreal atmospheres in her artwork when painting at night. The depicted flowers possess subjective colors that give viewers a unique visual and sensory experience.
Lihong's oil paintings embody the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures. She hopes her lotus flowers can provide visual sensations and psychological comfort to more people, allowing them to find inner peace in the chaotic world.
Lihong's artistic exploration also includes abstract, still life, landscape, and portraiture. Each of her works is filled with her love for art, nature, and culture, perfectly reflecting her artistic journey.
