About Catherine

Catherine Brihi is a French artist born in Paris. After studying English at the University of Nanterre, she had the opportunity to go to Qatar to open a famous jewelry shop. Instead of staying 3 months as scheduled she spent 40 years there. Living in a very cosmopolitan environment, she enjoyed a life full of rich experiences, one of them was the chance to learn arabic and to study "arabic calligraphy”. With passion and continuous efforts she ended up creating modern calligraphy works and participated in various exhibitions in Doha. Apart from her passion for art, Catherine Brihi is a nature lover, very much concerned by animal welfare. She is also very interested in geopolitics, always trying to understand the world with an historical approach.

Back in the south of France, she is now living a peaceful life where she can dedicate herself to her art: "Fluid painting" on canvas. Experiments and failures were her best teachings. Each painting is a unique and solitary adventure which leads her to an imaginary universe where the aesthetic, the cosmic ad the esotericism mix together. This world is populated by stars, galaxies and strange creatures which arise unexpectedly making this adventure so fascinating!
