Zakia Knouzi is a contemporary self-taught sculptor whose artistic journey began after leaving a previous career due to health challenges. Sculpture became a deeply personal form of healing, a way to process emotion, find peace, and rediscover purpose.
Her practice is rooted in alchemy and intuition, focusing on the human form, particularly busts, as vessels of inner expression. She seeks to capture the essence of existence within each sculpture, reflecting a harmonious dance between earthly textures and celestial brilliance, the tangible and the spiritual.
Each piece is a meditation on resilience and emotional depth, blending everyday materials with precious elements to create soulful forms. Her work traverses the vast terrain of the human psyche and the cosmos, offering a sculptural exploration of fragility, depth, and transcendence.
Her sculptures have been exhibited internationally and are available through various online galleries as well as her website and Instagram. She lives and works in Milan.
