About Tierre
Tierre started painting at age 18 and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Italy.
During these years, TR collaborated with IL, creating a duo called IL=TR, inspired by Gilbert & George.
The duo participated on multiple group exhibitions during their studies, showing large paintings and installations.
Tierre moved to London in 2009. Inspired by a new challenge to work in smaller pieces, embracing the simplicity of working with the essential.
Water, black ink, quills, Japanese brushes, cotton, to dive into a balance between texture and unknown.
The work is usually created at night, with soft or low light to embrace more a dream-like feeling. It is a dialog with introspection and the infinite lines of unconsciousness.
"I live in a vibrant and colourful city, but I enjoy the most when everybody is sleeping so I can paint all dreams they cannot see."
