Marita Setas Ferro is a multifaceted Portuguese artist working across sculpture, fashion, and fine craft, seamlessly merging these disciplines in innovative and impactful ways. Her work embodies a fusion of craftsmanship, design, and artistic expression, resulting in unique, multidimensional projects.
She holds a Master’s degree in Sculpture from the University of Porto, where her thesis explored garments as three-dimensional artistic objects, reflecting her experimental and conceptual approach to form.
In addition to her artistic practice, Marita works as a cultural manager and creative director, curating exhibitions and leading projects that emphasize sustainable design and fine craft. A strong advocate for collaboration, she actively participates in non-profit initiatives that foster collective creativity.
Her work has received international recognition, including the Artist of Europe Award 2024. Marita’s textile sculptures and installations have been exhibited at prominent events and venues such as the Florence Biennale, London Craft Week, and Collect London. She is currently represented by the Double J Collective Gallery in Dubai. Her work reflects an intricate balance between artistry and sustainability, positioning her as an influential voice in contemporary fine craft and design.
