Luo Xi (b.1992) is a Chinese artist currently based in Shanghai, she graduated from University of Newcastle upon Tyne, completed the MA in Media and Journalism in 2019. As a multidisciplinary artist, she primarily works with the medium of embroidery, photography, painting, drawing, inspired by plants, western philosophical novel and ancient Chinese poetry. She considers art as a way of tracing the eternal paradoxes that shape human existence — death and rebirth, union and separation, hope and fear, aims to explore the expression of humans’ most vital and most common emotions. Her practice is about self-identity, existentialism, emotions, dreams, feminism and psychological states.

Through painting, embroidery, and photography, she weaved these tensions in poetic forms, allowing them to speak of both fragility and resilience. She hopes both the audience and herself can encounter the truest selves through her works— to reconnect with inner emotions and precious memories. If these emotions resonate, then art becomes not only a form of self-healing, but also a way to heal others.

Her works have been reported by some media like FAD Magazine and Goddessarts Magazine, She was a Finalist in the Goddessarts Prize and her works also participated in London Design Festival. She has been shortlisted in VAA ART500 INTERNATIONAL 2025, and has also received a nomination for the Artist of the Year Awards 2025 from the Visual Artists Association.
