Born in Rimini (Italy) in 1948, he has painted since early childhood, gradually experimenting with different techniques and approaches.

As he grew older, he became inspired by Post-Impressionist painting, by which he has always been fascinated and attracted; a style that later influenced the chromatic taste he has expressed to this day in every aspect of figurative art, with bold yet always pleasantly harmonious combinations. Over the years he also dedicated himself to academic exercises, applying the same techniques of the historical periods of reference, for the intimate pleasure he has always felt in recalling figurative painting of every genre and era, reproducing works by beloved painters of the past such as Piero della Francesca, Francesco Guardi, and Vincent Van Gogh. Starting from the 1960s he gradually developed his own highly personal style, creating a clear and extroverted world of characters, inexhaustible like the imagination with which for many decades, and without interruption, they have been conceived, animated and realized by him, rendered with colors that are always very bold yet pleasantly and harmoniously composed, expressing creative freedom and, at times, irony.

After an exhibition organized and self-managed by renting a shop together with four other very young painters in the distant year of 1967, he never again wished to exhibit his paintings in shows or exhibitions, except in the Republic of San Marino the following year, where in an exhibition of students from the local Classical High School he was awarded a gold medal. Nevertheless, he continued to paint uninterruptedly, exclusively for his own intimate pleasure, considering himself fulfilled and satisfied—as he still does today—whenever the images and characters that appeared in his mind and imagination took shape, color, and life exactly as they had been conceived. Only with the discovery of the possibility of using Instagram to make known the commitment and passion of a lifetime did he decide to publish and display them for the benefit of those who have shown appreciation for his unmistakable style, which many define as absolutely original and unique. To do so, and for the feelings that have bound him for many decades to Greece, he chose to present himself under the name of Gaios Kokkinidis, reproducing his name in the language of that beloved country. He never wanted to exhibit his paintings. Only with the discovery of Instagram did he decide to publish them, presenting himself with the name Gaios Kokkinidis because of his love for Greece, showing on the web his unmistakable style, defined by many as absolutely original and unique.

After the exhibition of three works at International Fine Art in Venice (December 2025), where he was noticed for the first time by the new talent researcher Ilaria Parlato (for ITSLIQUID), he was contacted by ARTEOM Gallery and exhibited some works in digital form, three of which were projected in Times Square in February 2026. Four pages were dedicated to him in MAGAZINE n.8, visible and consultable on the ARTEOM page.

Using A.I., he has recently begun to bring his works to life, inaugurating a new way of playing with his own art.

For this particular way of working, he has been invited by the Fondazione Carlo Rambaldi to participate in an exhibition (“UNITED IN ART 100 STARS”) as part of the commemorative celebrations of the renowned scenographer, which will take place in California, in San Diego, where he will participate with a work titled Romeo and Juliet, and in Los Angeles where five of his works will be virtually exhibited as part of a documentary on Rambaldi’s life.

He has finally been invited to participate, representing Italy, in an exhibition titled 195 x GLOBAL which will take place in Switzerland in the coming months and will bring together 195 painters from 195 different countries around the world, each representing their own.
