Christina Mitterhuber also known as Christy Mitterhuber (birth name Christa) is an independent and multiple Award winning painter born December 29, 1975 in Wels, Austria.

Since she was fourteen years of age, she liked to go to Museums or Galleries to watch many paintings of the great old Masters, which probably was most important for her development as a self taught painter all her life. One of her favourite painters are Leonardo da Vinci among others. "The last supper" - in form of a few hundred years old print - has always been in the center of the dining room in her families home. She remembers to always have watched that as a small child, she found it fascinating. She lives her life as a painter with his statement: "Realize everything is connected to everything else".

Self taught painter Christina Mitterhuber painted her first oil painting at the age of twelve. Since then she has painted over 1500 oil paintings and mixed media paintings on canvas. She often chooses to use materials like oil, pigments, oil color, acrylic, glitter,  dried leaves, pearls, stones and sea shells on canvas.

Many of her paintings were shown in over 200 participations at art projects physically, digitally and virtually since 2018. in: Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and United States of America.

So far Christina Mitterhuber had the great honor to participate in over 20 physical Museum exhibitions in very important locations of high prestige. Carousel du Louvre at the Art Shopping occasion in 2023 or at the XIII, XIV and XV International Rome Biennale with her paintings "Alicante", "Hidden Treasures” and "Completely weightless" in the Unesco cultural heritage Museum "Stadio Domiziano" at Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy in 2020, 2022 and 2024. She got invited and selected into the XIV Florence Biennale, where she showed her painting "La Mer II" of her series "La Mer I - VI" in 2023. She also got invited and selected into the Rome Triennale in 2023.

She also likes to paint series, like "True  colors", "Eisrosen", "Violet",  "Hidden Treasures", "New York City in the rain", "Chilly New York", "Aqua touch” (AD ART SHOW in the Oculus at Westfield World Trade Center in New York City), "La Mer" (XIV Florence Biennale), Andalusian Rainbow Stones and her series "WE in RED 2018 - 2022", 100 oil paintings on canvas.

Nature inspires Christina a lot for her work. She enjoys long walk with her dogs in Nature. She likes Jazz and classical music but also rock and pop. She also likes to read poetry and comedies. She likes silence and solitude and finds inspiration in that. Travels inspire her a lot as well. Now she mainly lives in Austria, her studios are in Vienna and in Upper Austria. But she has also lived many years in North America and Australia in her twenties and in her early thirties. These coutries with their different landscapes and the different light has definitely shaped her style as a painter.

Since she is also an Award winning painter - she has already received over 20 physical Awards in locations of high prestige since 2020 - she was most delighted to receive the "Leonardo da Vinci" Award in the Leonardo da Vinci Museum in Milan in 2023. She also received over 13 digital Awards in her career already.

She is present in the contemporary art year book "Artists of Today and Tomorrow 2 and 5" edited by Gangemi Editor International. She is also present in two catalogs by Nartwork which are in the J.Watson library in the MET New York. She exposed her works in famous galleries in digital format at Times Square New York.
