About Anna

Anna Yakusheva was born in 1991 in a small village Svetloye, Zaporozhye region, Ukraine.

Since 2007 she started to study academic drawing and classical painting at art school.

In 2013, she graduated from Zaporizhzhya National Technical University and received a diploma in interior design.

From 2012 to 2016 she worked in Kiev in SempreArte design studio. Her projects participated in international interior design competitions and were published in well-known magazines. She also painted paintings individually for the interiors of her projects.

In 2016, Anna moved to England. Finding herself in a new country and becoming a mum, she started to explore herself. She developed an interest in the topic of emotional intelligence, psychology, esotericism, and various spiritual practices. She also began to expand her art practice and to learn watercolour techniques and book illustration.

In parallel, Anna gave individual drawing lessons, created a series of illustrations for children's educational material and for a personal collection of children's books.

A major breakthrough in her creative activity occurred after studying at the Online Art Communication School by Julia Sysalova in 2023: in parallel with perfecting her skills, Anna began to actively pursue the development of her career as a global artist.

She is currently working on her solo autobiographical exhibition "The Path to Inner Freedom".

Her works are in private collections in Great Britain, Germany, Italy, America, Canada, Russia and Ukraine.

Art Statement

<<l am an artist explorer, an alchemist, a practical philosopher of the new age, working in the style of metamodernism and being an archivist of my time. l walk the "Hero's Path" in search of my own path to inner freedom.

My mission as an artist is to create for all seekers a "place of power" where they can warm their souls, recharge their energy when they need it most, and give confidence to those who seek it.

In my works, which are based on reconnecting with information from above and on my personal lived experience, I show the way as a guide to all those who, like me, are searching for their way to inner freedom and their wholeness.

Immersing myself in my work as a kind of meditative process, I get in direct contact with my Higher Self, with my soul and even with the source of the Creator of our Universe and transfer the images I see onto paper.

For my visual language I use an incredibly versatile watercolour illustration, light, fluid, like life itself.

By supplementing the work with words and magazine clippings, I aim to convey certain messages and coded "cues" to the viewer for their inner transformation. In this way, I create my own unique authorial style.

I strive to evoke the viewer's inner, perhaps hidden emotions, to awaken their consciousness to a dialogue with themselves and to show that each of us is unique and is the Great Creator not only of our own lives, but of this World as a whole. My works open your eyes, awaken something very important and forgotten inside, and change your life.

I show how multifaceted, easy and free our reality can be if we learn to trust life and hear the voice of our soul.>> (Anna Yakusheva)
